We write to confirm that Midas Construction employed M&M Wood Flooring to carry out the wood flooring works in the Clarence and Brewhouse Buildings at the Royal William Yard. The works involved the conversion of listed naval buildings into luxury apartments for Urban Splash.

M & M carried out the sanding and sealing of existing timber floors and the installation of new oak floors where required. Including the supply of new oak flooring the works package was valued at £600k and carried out in 2005/6.

Midas would have no hesitation in recommending M & M Wood Flooring to other clients. Their knowledge and experience in all matters relating to quality and specification of new wood floors and requirements for renovating old timber floors is excellent.

We found their staff to be hard working and trustworthy and their ability to meet what were at times very tight time deadlines was again excellent.

Coming into the project Midas had little experience of installing timber floors in the type of environment at Royal William Yard and thanks to M & M we avoided what could have been costly mistakes had we selected the wrong type of timber, fixing methods and seals. Their help and advice right through the project helped the whole team to deliver a successful and quality scheme.

We employed M & M Flooring to sand and seal our timber floors on the ground floor of our house. We had recently purchased the house and decided that we would like to restore the original floor. M & M Flooring quickly identified a problem with wet and dry rot, their expertise enabled us to employ preservationists to solve this problem. But they also helped in every aspect at a very difficult and stressful time, they replaced rotten joists and floorboards, sourcing antique boards throughout the county. They identified areas of concern but always suggested solutions, M & M Flooring went above and beyond their original contract, working to ensure an excellent result for our floors.

We would highly recommend M & M Flooring to anyone requiring their services, their staff were excellent in their commitment, hard work and endeavours to acheive a solution. Throughout the works they kept us imformed and gave us professional and excellent advice which saved us a very costly experience. The floors are now restored to their original state which seemed impossible at the start of the works. Our thanks and admiration is given to M & M Flooring for a fantastic job!
